Screening of a new curated video programme Happy and merry … from the DIVA Station archive on Wednesday, 15 December 2021 at 7 pm at Galeriji Simulaker Gallery in Novo mesto.

The programme is the result of a collective selection of videos and films from the DIVA Station archive, which was prepared especially for the Simulaker Gallery at the end of the second year of the corona period by the SCCA-Ljubljana team Lara Plavčak, Vesna Bukovec in Peter Cerovšek. In it, we included playful and sarcastic works with a distinct creative imagination, which at times flirts with the absurd. The end of the year is a time of joyful celebration and a time when we proverbially look to the past and imagine the future. We live in a time when reasons for optimism and joy need to be re-invented over and over again, which could be the task of this selection of moving images as well.

Iz arhiva Postaje DIVA

The International Festival of Arts, Technology and Science Kiblix 2020-2021 hosed the DIVA Station archive with a series of events in April and May. In a series of four events under the common title From the Archives of the DIVA Station, we prepared a series of online video projections on the computer and online art, perception of physicality in a virtual environment, and transmitted feelings. The purpose of online projections is to get acquainted with works from the digital archive, get to know individual authors, and create a space for joint reflection, discussion, and knowledge exchange. The conversations were moderated by Irena Borić and Vesna Bukovec.

Back2Back: Jake Yuzna

To the second Back2Back – an event of artistic research of the DIVA archive – we invited artist, film author and curator Jake Yuzna (USA), who was at a research residency in the DIVA Station archive at SCCA-Ljubljana in 2020. In their selection of works, they followed the alternative culture in Slovenia and, especially for this program, they also created a new work in which they reflect on their attitude towards the alternative.

The program includes videos by artists: Borghesia, Neven Korda, Jurij Korenc, Rok Sieber – Kuri, Gorazd Krnc, Yuliya Molina, Alenka Pirman, Sašo Sedlaček, Ana Sluga, Valerie Wolf Gang and Jake Yuzna.
Before the screening Peter Cerovšek, head of DIVA Station was talking with Jake Yuzna.
